Guntur: Ayyappa Swamy devotees under the banner of Devadaya Sampradaya Parirakshana Samithi on Wednesday took out a rally from Arundalpet 8th line to the Collectorate in Guntur city protesting against the Supreme Court judgement, over entry of women into Ayyappa Swamy temple at Sabarimalai.

The devotees demanded the Centre to bring an ordinance to check interference of the Supreme Court to protect religious sentiments of the devotees.

They also urged the Centre to file a Special Leave Petition in the Supreme Court immediately.

Addressing the gathering, Guntur Mirchi Yard chairman Mannava Subba Rao warned that if the Centre did not take steps to file special leave petition, it would have to face the wrath of the devotees.

He requested the Supreme Court to review its judgment.

Later, they submitted a memorandum to district revenue officer T Srilatha in the Collectorate.

Lella Appi Reddy, Siripurapu Sridhar, Ammisetty Anjaneyulu, Bijinepalli Radha, Nandiraju Nagaraju, Vadlamani Ravi, were among those present.
