BCs demand elections for panchayats

Vijayawada: The State BC JAC president Buddha Nageswara Rao alleged that Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu always talks about Vision 2020 and 2050 but could not have the vision on conducting Panchayat elections.
Speaking to the media at the state office here on Wednesday, he said that by issuing GO 90 and deputing special officers to look after the Panchayat activities, the development of villages was stagnated.
He demanded the government to implement the Court order and conduct Panchayat elections at all the 12,850 Panchayats.
He further said that BC JAC would not keep quiet if the government tries to decrease BC reservation by 5 percent in the wake of the court order.
He said that they welcome the court decision to conduct Panchayat elections in the given stipulated time and demanded the government to implement 25 percent reservation for women in the Panchayat elections.
