Pithapuram: YSRCP district president Kurasala Kannababu on Tuesday held the State government and sand mafia responsible for the road accident at Chebrolu.
He visited families of the victims at Pithapuram government hospital. Later addressing media, he demanded an ex-gratia of Rs 20 lakh to bereaved families and Rs 10 lakh to the injured.
The accident was occurred due to negligence of lorry with sand load that took short cut to save diesel on the ill fated day, he lamented.
Kannababu blamed ambulances for not attending the victims at the spot.
A case should be filed against lorry driver as well as sand mafia leaders, he demanded.
Former minister KVCH Mohana Rao accompanied him.
