Ch Gautam Manikantha, a Class X student of Sri Chiatanya school in China Amiram villge of Bhimavaram mandal in West Godavari district, was appreciated by the school teachers and students
Bhimavaram: Ch Gautam Manikantha, a Class X student of Sri Chiatanya school in China Amiram villge of Bhimavaram mandal in West Godavari district, was appreciated by the school teachers and students.
He was given a gold medal and Rs 20,000 in cash by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at an awards function organised recently.
In a press release issued by the school principal, Krishnam Raju, Gautam won a medal in Kho-Kho at national-level competition.
The state government had honoured him with Pratibha awad for his success in sports.
The principal said that their student was one among 14 Pratibha award winners from the district.
He said their school was giving equal priority to sports and cultural activities apart from academics.
The student secured the award because of the enthusiasm shown by both parents and teachers, he added.
