Vijayawada: The Progressive Recognised Teachers Union (PRTU), Krishna district unit elected new executive body at the two-day council meeting which concluded here on Monday.
D Srinivas was elected as president and GVS Perumallu was elected as the general secretary of PRTU unanimously by the 700 PRTU members from 50 mandals across the district.
The meeting was presided by International Multiple Lions Club chairman M Upendra. He congratulated the newly-elected president and the general secretary.
The members discussed on various problems faced by the teachers apart from strengthening of government schools and welfare of the teachers on Sunday.
They appreciated the services of PRTU Sevadal which was actively participating in various programmes and to solve the problems faced by the teachers.
