Kakinada: In the lucky dip organised at municipal corporation office here on Tuesday, as many as 79 Diwali cracker shops were sanctioned by authorities.
The area wise sanctions are as follows: 11 at Boat Club, 11 at Dry Fish Market at Jagannaickpur Bridge, 21 at Ananda Bharati Grounds and 36 at Mc Lauren School grounds.
The authorities omitted Raja Tank this year in view of beautification of tank premises with flower garden and other amenities completed recently.
Municipal Commissioner K Ramesh and Additional Commissioner G Satyaveni supervised the conduct of auctions.
