Kadapa: To bring down crime rate and regulate traffic, Mydukur DSP B R Srinivasulu has opened a police outpost in Badvel town on Thursday. Speaking to the media, the DSP said that police administration has decided to set up an outpost with the increase in accidents on Nellore-Mumbai highway and traffic jams.

The town with 3.5 lakh population is witnessing traffic congestion every day with another 1 lakh floating population coming to town from surrounding villages. In the recent past, chain snatchings, thefts and other crime related incidents have increased in Badvel.

The DSP stated 4 vehicles and 12 Blue Colt cops will be discharging duties for traffic regulation and patrolling round-the-clock in 3 shifts. Urban Circle Inspector M Ramesh Babu, Sub-Inspectors R Chalapathi and V Hemadri were present. Later, the DSP flagged off Blue Colt force at urban police station in Badvel.
