Visakhapatnam: Railway Protection Force personnel conducted surprise raids at various locations of travel-cum-internet centres in the city and booked cases against those who indulged in generating reserved tickets with fake ID proofs and user names.

Acting on credible information, the RPF officials at Bobbili and Srikakulam also conducted surprise raids during which 6 cases have been registered and 7 accused were held under section 143 of Railways Act.

During the raids 495 reserved tickets worth Rs 8.36 lakh were recovered from travel centres. The RPF personnel informed that the raids will be continued to check the touting menace in railway reservation system.
