Online voter enrollment high compared to offline
As many as 166 lakh applications were received from the 14 constituencies to enroll as voters in Chittoor district during the two monthlong summary revision of electoral rolls, which came to an end on October 31

Tirupati: As many as 1.66 lakh applications were received from the 14 constituencies to enroll as voters in Chittoor district during the two month-long summary revision of electoral rolls, which came to an end on October 31.
Interestingly, 97,346 applied online against 69,225 applications received offline in the enrollment centres across the district revealing the growing popularity of digital technology in the district.
Chandragiri Assembly constituency, the native segment of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu topped in voter enrollment with 24,228 applications followed by Tirupati Assembly segment where 23,281 have enrolled.
Satyavedu with only 5,496 applied is at the bottom. The details of the applications received for enrollment as voters (given in brackets) in other constituencies include Palamaner (17,494), Madanapalle (13,862), Kuppam (12,272), Srikalahasti (10,819), Pileru (10,019), Chittoor (9,407), G D Nellore (9,040), Nagari (8,155), Tambalapalli (8,052), Punganuru (7,644) and Puthalapattu (6,802), according to official sources.
It may be noted here that following the direction of Election commission of India, enrollment of new voters under ‘Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls’ was taken up nationwide from September 1 to October 31.
During the revision correction, change of address and deletion from the voters list also taken up as part of the revision through separate applications from the public.
