Left parties demand house registrations

Vijayawada: The activists of CPI, CPM and Jana Sena staged a protest demonstration at the Lenin Centre here on Monday demanding that the district administration resume registration of houses immediately. They appealed to district administration to implement their assurances given to people. Addressing the gathering, CPM State executive member Ch Babu Rao said that the registrations were stopped for the last six months at Singh Nagar and Payakapauram areas in the city much to the inconvenience of people.

People could not undertake new constructions and could not raise loans from the banks, he said. The Central MLA of the ruling party remained a mute spectator when the people were suffering, he said. Recalling that the mandal revenue officer who personally visited the hunger strike camp and assured them the registrations would commence, he said that months passed since then, but no action was taken so far.

He appealed to officials to stick to their assurance and start registrations. He warned the officials that they would lay siege to the MRO office after Deepavali if no action was taken by that time. CPM leaders others participated in the dharna.
