Guntur: Swine flu positive cases on rise in Guntur district for the last few days. At present four patients are suffering from swine flu and undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the city.

While one patient undergoing treatment at GGH and another three-undergoing treatment at various private hospitals.

According to doctors in the district medical and health department, one patient was admitted to GGH and undergoing treatment for swine flu. A 55-year-old woman suffering from swine flu was undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Guntur city.

Another person hailed from Prakasam district undergoing treatment in another private hospital in Guntur city. A 20-year-old pregnant woman hailed from Bapatla town was undergoing treatment in a private hospital.
So far, 13 swine flu positive cases were registered in Guntur district during this season and three persons died of swine flu in Guntur district.
District Medical and Health Officer Dr Yasmin submitting a report on swine flu cases to collector Kona Sasidhar every day.

Masks and tamiflu medicines were kept ready in the GGH and other government hospitals in the district. Swine flu testing centres were set up in the Guntur Medical College and Tenali government hospital.

Suspected swine flu cases are referring to referral hospitals.

The Medical and Health department urged the parents not to send children to schools if they are suffering from fever and cough until they recover and conducting awareness camps to create awareness on swine flu.

DMHO Dr Yasmin said, "While two patients hailed from Guntur district are undergoing treatment for swine flu.Out of remaining two, one patient from Prakasam and another from Krishna district.

One patient is undergoing treatment in GGH. We conduct campaign on swine flu at RTC bus stands and churches and distributed 5-lakh pamphlets for distribution. We have two testing labs in Guntur district in the GGH and Tenali government hospital.”
