Nagula Chaviti celebrated with fervour

 Ongole: Nagula Chaviti was celebrated with religious fervour in Prakasam district on Sunday. Minister Siddha Raghava Rao and Ongole MLA Damacharla Janardhana Rao along with their respective family members also offered pooja and milk to the serpent god and sought blessings.

The Nagamma Putta at the Rangarayudu Cheruvu in Ongole registered a large footfall since early morning. Siddha Raghava Rao and his wife Lakshmi Padmavathi also visited the place and did pooja there in the morning. They offered milk and other offerings at the snake pit and prayed for the welfare of the state.

Janaradhana Rao and his family members offered pooja at the snake pit at the Saibaba Temple in Santhapet.

The temples at Throvagunta, Subrahmanyeswara Swami Temple at Parchur, Sivalayam at Swarna, Kattamalleswara Swami Temple at Karemchedu received a large number of devotees since early morning. 

The Sivalayams at Markapuram, Tangutur, Podili, Tarlupadu and other places also hosted the serpent god. The devotees in these places visited the temples to offer milk and eggs to the god and prayed for the wellbeing of their families.

The Chirala public offered special pooja, milk, eggs to the Nagendra Swami at the burrows at Jwalamukhi Temple, Bhavanarushi Temple and Dandubata road. 

The people of Eepurupalem, Boyinavaripalem, Thotavari Palem, Sai Colony and nearby areas visited the burrow at the Santana Sivanaga Mallikharjuna Temple at Eepurupalem and performed pooja. 

The women at Kandukur did pooja at the snake pits at Ayyappa Temple while the devotees from Gudlur prayed the god at Neelakantheswara Swami temple.
