AP Govt lifts ban on municipal teachers transfers

Guntur: The state government relaxed rules and lifted ban on transfers within the Urban Local Bodies including teachers working in the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation and Vijayawada Municipal Corporation, to any other municipal corporation.

With the lifting of ban on transfers, they can now be transferred from municipal corporation to municipality and from municipality to corporation. The government issued orders to the municipal commissioners to this effect. The transfers will be considered in spouse, medical and mutual grounds.
As many as 305 teachers have applied for transfers. They will be relieved from their duties Saturday.
