Mandapeta: The birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was celebrated at Indira Centre and in Congress office here on Monday.
Paying floral tributes, AICC member and PCC official spokesperson and the party Mandapeta unit in-charge Kamana Prabhakara Rao said that Indira Gandhi toiled for the uplift of the poor and downtrodden.
Her leadership qualities stood as inspiration for many leaders not only across the country but also in global arena.
Kamana quoted the liberation of Bangladesh (then East Pakistan) in 1971 stood as a great achievement and finest example of her leadership qualities, Kamana hailed.
Local Congress leaders and activists participated in programme.
