Pontiff slams propaganda by other religions at bathing ghats

Rajamahendravaram: Sarada Peetam pontiff Swarupanandendra Swamy condemned the propaganda of other religions at the bathing ghats of river Godavari in the city. He advised the people prevent the crocked propaganda of other religions at Hindu bathing ghats.

Speaking to reporters at Gayatri Sri Chakra Peetam here on Tuesday, he said religious conversions are also taking place at the ghats near Markandeya Swamy temple and Kumari talkies.

It is a pity to note that respective officials remain as mere spectators and are not implementing the GO issued by the government against religious conversions and propaganda by other religions. Some persons are creating nuisance at the ghats where thousands of people come for a dip in river Godavari, he stated.

Sarada Peetam extends its support to the organisations and individuals who are fighting against religious conversions and propaganda of other religions. It is duty of every Hindu to protect Hindu Dharma, traditions and culture, he added.

Earlier, he inspected the bathing ghats in the city and visited Gayatri Sri Chakra Peetam. Brahmin Sangham leaders Jwalapuram Srikanth, K Prabhakaram, BS Rao, T Pandu, Ayyappa, BVS Narayana, SVSVNP Prasad, Gayatrim Peetam founder Savithala Chakra Bhaskar Rao and others were present.
