Amaravati: East Godavari stands first in best performance and reaching the targets in implementing govt schemes with 88.1 per cent score. The West Godavari district tops in growth rate.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced rankings to districts basing on their performance. Five districts including East Godavari, Krishna, Chittor,West Godavari and Kadapa district came under A category in performance, Visakha, Vizianagaram, Anantapur, Prakasam, Guntur, Srikakulam, Nellore, Kurnool stood in second category. Kurnool was placed under last position with 70.7 per cent score.

Meanwhile West Godavari district stood first with 12.79 per cent growth rate in the state, while Prakasam district in last place with 8.56 per cent growth rate. During 2017-18 too West Godavari bagged first place with 14.75 per cent growth rate while Visakha in last place with 9.11 per cent growth rate.

The Water Resources department got first rank with highest score of 150.2 in achieving results, Sports and Youth affairs department remained in last rank with 20.8 per cent score. The Water resources, agriculture, cooperative, horticulture, sericulture, social welfare, tribal welfare, environment and forest, BC welfare, labour and employment, women and child welfare, handicapped and senior citizens, animal husbandry, fisheries, health, medical, family welfare departments were placed in A category in performance. The industries, skill development, education, housing, Infrastructure and investments, panchayat raj, rural development, minority welfare placed in B category. The Municipal administration, urban development came under C category and Sports, and youth welfare came under D category in performance wise.

During 2017-18 Visakhapatnam district stood first with 73,592 cr GDP, followed by Krishna with 70,685 cr, East Godavari in third place with 65,292 GDP. In per capita income Krishna district stands first with 1,89,121 during 2017-18 and Srikakulam is in last position with 99,792 per capita income. The Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Kurnool districts are in last three positions in per capita income. While the national average per capita income stands at 1,12,835, the average per capita income in Ap stands at 1,42,054.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that though the per capita income was low during state bifurcation, it was increased with progress in Kadapa, Kurnool and Anantapur district for the past four years. He said the per capita income in Srikakulam and Vizianagaram should be increased. He directed the officials to concentrate on increasing per capita income in both Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts. He said that the per capita income Rayalaseema was increased with development of horticulture. The same pattern should be followed in both Srikakulam and Vizianagaram to increase per capita income.
