MRC building construction remains incomplete

Bhimavaram: The Mandal Resources Centre building of the education department in Veeravasaram continues to remain in construction stage for eight years owing to paucity of funds.
Started in 2010 under Sarva Siksha Abhiyan, the building construction at an estimated cost of Rs 6 lakh was stopped after the slab was laid.
For completion of the remaining part of the building, a sum of Rs 5 lakh needed which is not being released since then. As a result, the mandal education department office was still housed in mandal parishad office.
The education department had suffered a lot in land acquisition for the building. With all government lands were encroached, it managed to secure some land for the building by joining pieces of partial land from rest house tank and high school ground.
The main problem was insufficient funds as there was mismatch between estimation cost and actual spending. For want of funds, the building was stopped after constructing the slab. Since then, no funds were released to complete the MRC.
