Dokiparru : The celestial marriage of Sri Venkateswara Swamy, the presiding deity of Sri Bhusameta Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Dokiparru village of Gudlavalleru mandal of Krishna district was conducted on Monday with gaiety and religious fervour.

The celestial marriage of Sridevi, Bhudevi and Sri Venkateswara Swamy was conducted under the supervision of the temple founding trustees Puritipati Venkata Krishna Reddy and his spouse Sudha Rani on the last day of Kartika Masam.

Thousands of devotees including PV Krishna Reddy and Sudha, PP Reddy and Rama, PV Subba Reddy and Sumalata, and P Veera Reddy and Vijayalakshmi were present at the wedding celebrations.

The celestial marriage was preceded by various rituals including Chakrasnanam, Abhishekam, Gandhotsavam among others. Headed by Govindaiah, several classical singers sang Annamacharya Kirtanas.

Special digital screens were arranged for the spectators for viewing the celestial marriage.

As part of Brahmotsavams, the managing trustees of the temple this year introduced ‘Ashtaadala Paada Padmaaradhana Seva’ which would be henceforth available to all the devotees.

The presiding deity was worshiped with 108 golden flowers attended by one thousand devotees, which is first of its kind, the trustee Puritipati Venkata Krishna Reddy said.
