MP raises question in Rajya Sabha on nutrition

Nellore: Rajya Sabha member Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy raised a question in the Parliament regarding Central government sponsored activities related to Poshan Abhiyaan scheme in Nellore district on Thursday. 

Responding to his question, Minister of State for Women and Child Development Dr Virendra Kumar gave a written answer. He said that Poshan Abhiyaan is being successfully implemented in the district since September 2018. Supervisors working for the scheme were trained and 6,963 people were benefitted from the Poshan Abhiyaan. 

The scheme focuses on nutritional needs of children, lactating and pregnant women and raises awareness on nutrition among people, he said. This is informed by the MP in a press note.
