Vijayawada: The best way to learn physics was by doing and it is very important to provide an opportunity to the young minds to learn physics through practicing the experiments, said Fr Rex Angelo vice-principal of PG College of Andhra Loyola College.

Addressing the 8th and 9th class students who were visiting the PG College, he said that the present system lays much stress on scoring marks and so the focus of the students does not go beyond marks.

When the same concepts are taught through experiments, learning science becomes fun.

The beauty of science can be seen only through experiments and students will discover new perspectives. It will motivate them to come up with new ideas and inventions and they will also discover their potentials, he added.

Dr G Sahaya Baskaran, HoD of Physics, said that the PG students of physics were demonstrating the physics experiments, chosen from 8th class and 9th Class Physical Science Books of AP State, under the supervision of our lecturers.

In 10 minutes each group of visiting students practiced the experiment and make their observations and inferences, and moved on to the next experiment, he added.

Lecturers of PG Department of Physics Dr B Johnson (HoD), Dr Ch Srinivasa Rao, K Seshulatha, Gunjan Mahajan and others were present.
