Mandapeta: Rich tributes were paid to youth Congress leader Sanjay Gandhi on his 72 birth anniversary.
The programme was organised at Congress party office here. AICC member and PCC official spokesperson Kamana Prabhakara Rao said that the young leader who died in a plane crash at very young age was an able leader and stood as inspiration for youth in the country.
He stood as moral support to his mother Indira Gandhi when she was out of power, Kamana said.
Sweets were distributed in the meeting on this occasion. Congress leaders and cadre attended in large numbers.
