Visakhapatnam: An inter-services missile seminar on ‘Effective Missile Management for Enhancing Operational Availability’ was organised at Samudrika auditorium in the city by Eastern Naval Command, on Tuesday.

The day-long seminar coordinated by INS Kalinga saw large participation from the Indian Navy, Army, Air Force, DRDO and Industry. The seminar was intended to provide an institutional platform for sharing of expertise between all stake holders in the field of missiles.  

As part of the seminar, distinguished speakers from the three services and various laboratories of DRDO presented contemporary and futuristic practices in missile maintenance, management and lifecycle support. 

The participants from the industry presented their role and contribution in the indigenous missile development programmes, in keeping with the Government's ‘Make in India’ policy. 

Presiding over the seminar, Vice-Admiral Narayan Prasad, Director General Naval Projects, Visakhapatnam stressed upon the need for greater synergy among the experts in the field to constantly evolve effective solutions for greater operational availability of missiles. He released the seminar compendium on the occasion.
