Penamaluru mandal surveyor booked

Vijayawada: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) personnel registered Disproportionate Case (DA case) against Kolli Haribabu, mandal surveyor of Penamaluru in Krishna district, on Wednesday for possessing properties disproportionate to his known sources of income. The total value of the properties is estimated to be about Rs 10 crore.
ACB director general R P Thakur, who is also the state DGP, said on Wednesday the officials conducted raids on the residence of Haribabu in Mahalakshmi Nilayam apartment located in Ramachandra Nagar, near Ayush hospital in Vijayawada and on four houses belong to his relatives.
The ACB officials found documents related to one flat, five residential plots and four acre agriculture land registered in his wife K Padmaja’s name. One plot was registered in his elder daughter K Harshita’s name.
The accused has a bank balance of Rs 11 lakh, gold articles weighing 750 gram, silver articles weighing 1.50 kg, LIC policies worth Rs 1 lakh and Rs 49,000 in cash, chits paid Rs.5 lakh, one four-wheeler, and two two-wheeler vehicles.
The officials are yet to open the bank locker. The accused has been working in Penamaluru mandal near Vijayawada. The residential plots were located in posh localities in different parts of Vijayawada city and Gannavaram. The accused joined the government service in 1993 and worked in different parts of the district. Haribabu was arrested and produced in the ACB Court.
