Tirupati: Marking the birth anniversary of Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan which was celebrated as the National Mathematics Day, a workshop on maths and computational thinking was organised in Regional Science Centre (RSC) here on Saturday.

RSC Curator MMK Balaji delivered a lecture on the life and works of Ramanujan for the benefit of the children and general public, who attended the meet.

Dr D Srinivasulu, Department of Chemistry, Sri Venkateswara University (SVU), who was the chief guest for the valedictory gave away the prizes to the winners of the puzzle contest held for children.

Speaking on the occasion, he emphasised the students to develop interest towards a subject of their interest similar to Srinivasa Ramanujan to reach great heights.

He appreciated RSC for celebrating such commemorative events and paying tribute to the great personalities.
