Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu commenced works of Secretariat Buildings raft foundation on Thursday, after performing Puja. The raft foundation works commenced exactly at 8.55 after performing Santi Homam. The construction of secretariat building is going to be another milestone in developing Amaravati. The construction of five-towered secretariat building will also begin today.

Along with the CM Naidu, speaker Kodela Sivaprasad Rao, ministers Devineni Umamaheshwara Rao, P Narayana, Prathipati Pullarao, Nakka Anandbabu, Vijayawada mayor Koneru Sridhar, MP Konakalla Narayana Rao, Women Commission Chairman Nannapaneni Rajakumari, MLA T Sravan Kumar, principal secretary Ajay Jain, CRDA commissioner CH Sridhar, collector Kona Sashidar, NGO state president Ashok Babu were also present at the foundation ceremony. Speaking after the ceremony, Naidu said that the construction of secretary is going to be one of the largest buildings in the country. He also said that a building will be allocated to the labour who constructs the secretary and steel plant in Kadapa district.

"The building is being constructed of 250 meter height, four towers with 40 floors, one with 50 floors and SFT construction worth Rs 56 lakh, a huge vehicle parking which can occupy 4000 thousand vehicles at the same time will be constructed in an SFT area," said Naidu adding that the world famous Norman Foster has designed the plan for the construction of the buildings.

"All the five buildings are being constructed on one raft foundation for which a huge labour, machinery and construction material is required," Naidu said.
