Civic chief promises to address people’s tax woes

Ongole: The Ongole Municipal Corporation organised a face-to-face with the municipal commissioner programme on the corporation premises here on Thursday.
The public met the municipal commissioner, Sankranti Venkata Krishna between 10.00 AM to 12 noon and submitted several representations relating to the house taxes, levy of taxes, vacant land taxes etc.
Many of them complained that though they were willing to pay the taxes and demanding the officials to impose property tax, the municipal staff was neglecting their requests.
The Commissioner assured the public that every request received by him will be sent to the concerned official and he will see that the officials visit their places and impose the taxes as per the rules, in a few days.
The commissioner also announced that he was conducting a similar face-to-face with public on Friday on supply of drinking water.
He said that the public can meet him about the water tap connections, irregular supply of water, new connections etc. He assured that their issues will be resolved immediately.
