Guntur: ANU students under the banner of Pratyeka Hoda Sadhana Samithi on Friday staged a protest at ANU gate demanding that the Centre sanction Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh. Raising slogans against the BJP-led government at the Centre, they demanded that the Centre accord SCS to AP immediately and keep up its all other election promises.

Addressing the gathering, Samithi chairman Prof N Samuel reminded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured SCS to Andhra Pradesh in Tirupati public meeting.

Samithi ANU convener Dr Simhachalam said that if the Centre sanctions SCS, entrepreneurs will come forward to set up industrial units, as a result, employment opportunities will be generated.
