Nellore: AICC secretary C D Meyyappan said that they were strengthening the party at mandal level. He organised a review with constituency in-charges and collected details of status of the party.

Interacting with the media at Indira Bhavan in the city on Sunday evening, Meyyappan said that they were collecting details of activities being executed to strengthen the party keeping in view the upcoming elections in Andhra Pradesh.

‘We have already formed booth committees, mandal-level committees in all the districts. Now, the progress of the party is so much encouraging and leaders and activists of the party have been striving hard to strengthen the party,” said the AICC secretary.

People of the country have been expressing their displeasure over the ruling party at the Centre and they are fed up with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rule, he added. Meyyappan alleged that Narendra Modi had failed to provide avenues to the jobless across the country as per poll promises made earlier.

He also lamented that farming community in the country had been facing severe turmoil with the policies being implemented by the Central government. He also said that people would teach a lesson to the BJP in the next general elections. Congress party would intensify campaign on Rafale scam across the country against the BJP, he added.

Meyyappan alleged that Constitutional organisations have become inactive during the regime of BJP. The AICC secretary congratulated Panabaka Krishnaiah on completing three years tenure as DCC president. Leaders of DCC felicitated Krishnaiah on the occasion.

Krishnaiah said that vote bank of the Congress party had increased as per a survey carried out by a private agency in the district. AICC leaders CV Sesha Reddy, Chenchala Babu Yadav, Chevuri Deva Kumar, P Seetharambabu and DCC leaders were also present.
