PM Modi limits Naidu’s Davos’ plans

Amaravati: The ongoing political battle between Andhra Pradesh government and the Centre seems to be taking new twists and turns every day. The latest one being the rejection of the proposal of the Chief Minister to lead a 15-member delegation to Davos for six days.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has been attending the World Economic Forum meetings held at Davos every year for the past four years. He utilises this occasion to showcase the state and attract investments. This year too, he sent a proposal to the Centre but the latter on Friday while granting permission to the CM go to Davos said Naidu should cut down his visit to four days and the delegation should not exceed more than five members.
This has invited sharp reaction from the state government. TDP leader and Minister for IT Nara Lokesh said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been resorting to sabotage and destructive politics.
Lokesh tweeted on his official twitter handle that, Naidu’s participation and networking with investors at the annual world economic forum event at Davos has led to many triumphs for the state.
Call it envy or revenge, the Centre is now trying hard to sabotage the Davos trip by imposing senseless sanctions. He further tweeted that "Does bringing investments to AP not mean bringing investments to India? Why is the Narendra Modi Government harassing AP govt so much? What wrong have the Telugu people done to deserve this, he questioned.
TDP MLC Dokka Manikya Varaprasad stated that Modi has been harassing AP with vested interests and behaving like a monarch instead of a democratic ruler. He said the public will teach him a befitting lesson in the ensuing elections.
Condemning the sanctions imposed on the chief minister’s delegation and his tour programme, Manikya Varaprasad said that the central government was not spending anything on the tour of Chandrababu Naidu. Centre in the past never Imposed restrictions in the past. He also blamed that the Modi was involving into each and every activity of the state government, which would hamper the federal structure of the India.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister directed the General Administration Department officials to resend the same list of delegation for the re-consideration of the Central government.
