Vijayawada: One should serve and support senior citizens, said Senior Citizens Forum general secretary Kodali Venkata Ratnam.

He participated as the chief guest at a programme held at Senior Citizens Forum Home at Kanuru on Monday.

Addressing the media, Venkata Ratnam said that the Seniors Citizens Home was established by Jampala Appa Rao, Vangara Surya Narayana and Ch Kushalava in 1991.

He said that there were about 25 senior citizen inmates taking shelter. As many as 15 senior citizens were taking shelter on cost.

He further said that with the donations received from donors to the tune of Rs 50 lakh, they could accommodate another 25 inmates.

He appealed to the donors to come forward with donations to serve the senior citizens better.

The donors can visit the old age home and observe the services provided to the inmates and then give donations, he said.

Forum president Ch Prasad, additional secretary Vanga Prasad, M Muralikrishna, M Rajaiah and others were present.
