Bhimavaram: Eateries and restaurants are using domestic gas for commercial purposes in the town. The delivery boys have been supplying the LPG cylinders at the commercial spots itself. There is no check by officials giving room for more corruption.
The practice is going on as there was price gap between the domestic and commercial LPG cylinders. The commercial cylinders cost extra and not economical for the commercial users.
The use of domestic gas by commercial establishments is also reported from neighbouring villages. The users have been indulging in large-scale corruption with the belief that the officials would not visit villages and remote places of the district to verify the diversion.
The domestic gas cylinder which is used by families will last for two to three months. The same cylinder is being used by the fast food centres and restaurants for just a couple of days.
They are using refill again and this process was going on unchecked for a few months without noticed by the authorities.
