Tirupati: TTD Staff and Workers United Federation leader M Nagarjuna affirmed that the struggle for abolition of the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) would continue till the government agree for the demand to abolish the CPS.

He was speaking at the conclusion of the 36-hour long hunger strike by TTD employees, organised jointly by the Federation and CPS Employees Welfare Association, here on Wednesday. Nagarjuna said efforts are to bring all the employees associations on a single platform to intensify the struggle for abolition of CPS as it proved detrimental to the employees.

Seeking the support of all the political parties to the employees fighting for restoration of old pension system, he said that if the government is committed to welfare of employees then it should immediately withdraw CPS. K Gunasekhar, LNV Ravikumar and others, who took part in the
36-hour fast, also spoke.
