Yerragondapalem: A sleeper coach tourist bus of Rangoli Travels in Maharashtra lost control on the Srisailam ghat road and about to plunge into the valley on Sunday morning.

It came to a halt with rear tyres hooked on to the railing. All passengers and drivers escaped with minor injuries. The police suspect inexperience of the driver was the reason for the accident.

According to the ASI of Dornala police V Venkateswarlu, a 42 member batch of tourists team started in Parli in Maharashtra for pilgrimage. It visited Tirupati Balajee on Saturday and about to seek blessings of Bhramarambha Mallikharjuna Swamy at Srisailam on Sunday.

By the time they reach Deyyala Malupu at Chinnarutla in Dornala mandal on the ghat road, the driver failed to negotiate turning.

The bus jumped into the valley, but its rear tyres hooked on to the barricade, saving all in the bus.

The police made alternate arrangements to shift the pilgrims to Srisailam first and registered an accident case.
