NGT to probe on Purushothapatnam project

New Delhi: On the petition filed on Purushothapatnam lift irrigation project the National Green Tribunal (NGT) has started the investigation in the case.
The NGT has directed the Union environment ministry to submit a report on whether they require environment clearance or not.
The petition was moved by Jammula Choudarayya that the construction of the project was taken up without any clearance.
The Purushothapatnam project on the left main canal of the Polavaram project is being constructed with Rs 1,638 crore and was inaugurated by CM Chandrababu Naidu on 15 August 2017.
