Rajamahendravaram: MP Maganti Murali Mohan has underlined the need to develop new varieties of flowers from nurseries of Kadiyam mandal. The nurseries are very popular across the country and the State government is keen to provide necessary facilities to the nursery farmers.

Laying foundation stone to Floriculture Research Centre (FRC) at Vemagiri village in Kadiyam mandal on Monday, he said the upcoming research centre will be helpful to the nursery farmers.

The scientists in the centre can give suggestions to the nursery farmers on how to grow variety of flowers with multi colours, how to export and how to store them etc. Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) sanctioned the research centre recognising the importance of Kadiyam nurseries which is having fertile land, suitable weather conditions and quality water.

He appealed to the nursery farmers to avail this opportunity to develop nurseries using latest technologies. Rural MLA Gorantla Butchaiah Choudary said the government sanctioned 11 acres of land and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is very much particular to develop nurseries and provided many subsidies.

ICAR Assistant Director-General T Janakiram, Director PV Prasad, Nurseries Growers Association president Satyanarayana and others were present.
