Nellore: The Southern Railway taken up development works at the Gudur Junction on Monday. Consequently, number of train services were cancelled for the next ten days up to January 31. As part of reconstruction of platforms, a traffic block has been imposed and several trains passing through the junction are partially cancelled from January 21 to 31, according to railway officials.

The cancelled trains between January 21 to 31 include Bitragunta–Chennai Central and Chennai Central–Gudur passenger services. Similarly, weekly expresses including Ernakulam–Patna which is scheduled to cross the junction on January 21, 23, and 28 followed by Bangalore Cantonment–Guwahati Kajiranga Express scheduled on January 22, 25 and Howrah–Ernakulam Antyodaya Express scheduled on January 26, 29 are partially cancelled.

Other trains partially cancelled or diverted are Chennai Central-Hajarath Nizamuddin scheduled to run on January 28 and Chennai Egmore–Gaya, Chennai Central–Howrah, Ernakulam–Howrah Express, and Howrah–Yaswanthpur scheduled on January 29.
