Vijayawada: “Prof Modali Nagabushana Sharma is a walking encyclopedia as far as theatre is concerned,” said Gummadi Gopalakrishna, Chairman, Andhra Pradesh State Nataka Academy in a condolence meeting organized by the Telugu Artistes Federation on Monday evening at Veledandla Hanumantaraya Grandhalayam Hall.

The chief guest of the meeting, Gopala Krishna said every theatre artiste should read the books written by Dr Modali Nagabhushana Sharma.

He also said that a library would be established in Tenali after Dr Nagabuhana Sarma’s name for the benefit of theatre persons and also the stage lovers.

Speaking on this occasion, noted writer, director and artiste M Sanjeevi recollected his association with Dr Sharma.

He also appreciated the gesture of Modali and said that he will encourage innovations and appreciate the young and new theatre personalities.

HVRS Prasad, President, Telugu Artistes Federation said that Dr Nagabhushana Sharma likes perfection in the production and also very clear in explaining the stage craft to the organizers for a best production.

Dr G Vijay Samadhi said that he was admired by the humbleness and down to earth quality of Modali Nagabhusana Sarma. P Panduranga Rao, retired station director of All India Radio narrated the works of Sarma.

Dr Gumma Sambasiva Rao reviewed the literature of Dr Sharma. Noted actor A Hrudaya Raj and freedom-fighter Uppaluri Mallikarjuna Sarma also spoke on this occasion.

P Vijaya Bhaskara Sarma, VVN Patrudu, Nandivada Nani, Suryadevara Jagannatha Rao, Nandagiri Narasimha Rao, PVN Krishna and many theatre personalities were present.

Madugula Rama Krishna conducted the meeting. Earlier, Gummadi Gopalakrishna garlanded the portrait of Dr Modali Nagabhusahana Sharma and paid rich tributes.
