Guntakal (Anantapur): Union Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain has revealed that the demand for separate Railway Zone in Visakhapatnam is very much under consideration by the NDA government.

Talking to reporters after participating in the inauguration of several developmental works here on Thursday, Rajen said in reply to a question that a special committee appointed to explore possibility for the Railway Zone is still studying the issue. The government will finally take a call on the issue based n the committee recommendations.

When a reporter pointed out that only one train called Prashanthi Express is connected to Amaravati, the capital of AP, the Railway Minister said that Bengaluru city has trains connecting Amaravati which include Kondaveeti Express from Benguluru to Machilipatnam and Dharmavaram-Visakha express which is a bi-weekly train and which would be regularised soon.
