VRO lands in ACB net in Sompeta

Srikakulam: The Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths caught a village revenue officer (VRO) of Baruva village in Sompeta mandal while accepting bribe at Tahsildar’s office on Wednesday. 

According to details, the VRO was identified as G Krishna Das and demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000 from T Vinod Krishna to mutate his name in revenue records as he was having three acres of land. Vexed with the attitude of VRO, Vinod Krishna lodged a complaint with ACB officials. 

Acting on a tip-off, the ACB officials arrested the VRO while accepting the bribe from the complainant in surveyor room at Tahsildar’s office premises. We will produce the accused VRO before magistrate of special court for trial of ACB cases at Visakhapatnam on Thursday, ACB DSP K Rajendra Kumar said.
