Kurnool: Third Sub-Junior National Dueball championship competitions have started on a grand note at outdoor stadium here on Thursday. Players from 22 states are taking part in the contest. Rajya Sabha member TG Venkatesh participated as a chief guest on the occasion and officially launched the competitions.
Addressing the players and sports officials, Venkatesh said that sports men and women are having golden future in TD government. Sports players, who have excelled in their respective sports and games, are provided with Group-1 jobs. No other State government in the past had provided big platform to the sports and games, stated Venkatesh.
The Dueball tournament would be played for three days starting from Thursday. Earlier, cultural events were performed by the participants.
