Vizianagaram: Collector M Harijawaharlal stated that the government is working for the upliftment of downtrodden people and was spending huge amount of funds on welfare schemes.
The collector on Saturday hoisted national flag at the collectorate and said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was working to make Andhra Pradesh as the three top developed states in India by 2020 and by 2029 to make it as top state in all aspects and by 2050 it would be a highly developed state in entire world.
We all should join hands to achieve those targets, he added. Later he distributed assets to 17,861 beneficiaries through DRDA worth of Rs 111.85 crores.
Oil engines, tractors, drip irrigation equipment and power tillers were handed over to the farmers. Tricycles and try motorcycles were handed over to physically challenged persons.
Women self-help groups had received financial support through Stree Nidhi scheme and some beneficiaries got Chandranna Bheema.
Later the collector handed over certificates and mementos to the officers, who performed well during their duties.
Cultural activities and patriotic songs presented by the children enthralled the invitees.
