Patriotic fervour marks R-Day celebrations in Krishna

Vijayawada: The Republic Day celebrations were organised in a grand manner in Vijayawada city and other parts of Krishna district on Saturday.
Collector B Lakshmikantham unfurled the tri-colour in Machilipatnam and received the guard of honour and addressed the gathering.
In Vijayawada, Municipal Commissioner J Nivas hoisted the tri-colour at the VMC main office. Mayor K Sreedhar, municipal corporators, officials and students studying in VMC schools attended the 70th RD celebrations.
Deputy Transport Commissioner E Meera Prasad unfurled the tri-colour at the Deputy Transport Commissioner’s office.
Transport department officials Y V N Murthy, V Srinivas and others attended the event. GST Audit Circle Joint Commissioner Deepa Srivastava hoisted the national flag at the GST audit circle office.
She explained the importance of GST and appealed to the staff to work with co-ordination to achieve the set targets.
Superintendents G Seetaramaiah Chowdary, J Venkateswarlu, Murali Krishna and others present on the occasion.
