Vijayawada: About 5,000 runners participated in 4th edition of Jio Amravati Marathon which was started from seed access road near Manthena Satyanarayana Ashram at 6 am on Sunday.

MLA Shravan Kumar, Guntur District Collector and District Magistrate Kantilal Dange flagged off the 21K run.

Social Welfare Minister Nakka Anand Babu and Special Chief Secretary Sports L V Subrahmanyam inaugurated the 10K run. Mahesh Kumar, CEO Jio Andhra Pradesh flagged off the 5K run.

In all 700 people participated on 21k run, around 1,500 people participated in 10K run and 2,800 people participated in 5K Run.

Speaking on the occasion, Mahesh Kumar said, “The marathon is intended to connect everyone living in and outside of Amaravati city.

Today Jio covers 90 per cent of the Andhra Pradesh population and rapidly increasing network footprints.

The winners of 21 K Men’s category are: Appa Rao first, Sivaji P second and M S Teja secured third place. In 21K Women’s Category, Vadde Navga secured first place followed by Naganjali and Durga in second and third places.

In 10 K Men’s Category, Naidu Sallam bagged the first prize, Ramesh Chandra second and Sankarao K secured third place.

In 10K Women’s Category Priyanka was declared first, Soujanaya second and Devi Durga was declared third.
