Vijayawada: Mahatma Gandhi’s message is still relevant today, said Deputy Speaker of Assembly Mandali Buddha Prasad while inaugurating the permanent exhibition ‘Bapu Darshan’ on Gandhiji at Vasavya Mahila Mandali here on Monday. Gandhiji showed the solution to all the problems like casteism, communalism, violence, economic inequalities and political machinations, the Deputy Speaker pointed out.
He appealed to everyone to understand the Gandhian philosophy and practice to achieve a progressive society. Expressing concern over the lack of honesty and integrity in all the fields, he said that casteism and communalism are being spread in the guise of politics which is dangerous. The Bapu Darshan exhibition contained various photographs of Gandhiji and an audio with his original voice apart from several videos on his life.
The exhibition also projects the models of the things Gandhiji used during his lifetime like Charkha, footwear, a clock and spectacles. The volumes of the collected works of Mahatma are also placed in the exhibition which is open every day from 10 am to 5 pm to allow the students to visit and learn about Gandhiji.
