Prakasam fencers selected for nationals
The Prakasam District Fencing Association announced that four players from the Prakasam district have been selected for the 29th National Level Seniors Championship, scheduled in the first week of next month
Ongole: The Prakasam District Fencing Association announced that four players from the Prakasam district have been selected for the 29th National Level Seniors Championship, scheduled in the first week of next month.
The Andhra Pradesh Fencing Association president V Nageshwara Rao said that the players who received medals in the individual categories in the 5th state-level seniors' championship, held in QIS College in Ongole recently are selected for the national championship.
He said that R Naga Chiranjeevi and Edara Shivani from Ongole are selected in the saber category while G Sai Rachana Reddy and SGND Mallikharjun from Ongole are selected in the foil category.
He added that these players will participate in the 29th National Level Seniors Championship scheduled to be held from February 2 to 5 at Nehru Stadium in Guwahati in Assam.
The Prakasam district fencing association president Balisetty Nageswara Rao, Prakasam district Olympic association general secretary Kurra Bhaskara Rao, Prakasam district chief coach RK Yatiraj appreciated the players for selecting for the national championship.
