Padmavathi temple kitchen inspected

Tirupati: TTD Chairman Putta Sudhakar Yadav on Wednesday inspected the temple kitchen (Potu) of Sri Padmavathi Ammavari temple, in Tiruchanur, near here.

Speaking on the occasion, TTD chief said that modernising the Potu is on cards in view of increasing workload and providing a convenient environment to the workers engaged in the preparation of Prasadams in the temple.

He said the temple is witnessing manifold increase in the number of devotees visiting the shrine to offer prayers to Goddess Padmavathi, consort of Lord Venkateswara, emerging as the second large temple after Tirumala temple, both income wise and also popularity.

TTD had already taken up many developmental initiatives in Tiruchanur to cope with the pilgrim rush, he said citing the construction of a big Annadanam complex in Tholappa Garden area and also widening the Mada streets and improving facilities like drinking water, sanitation and toilets in Tiruchanur.

Sudhakar also interacted with the kitchen staff, who explained about various Prasadams being prepared in the temple kitchen. He stated that the stage is all set for performing the ritual Bookarshan and Beejavapanam in Amarvati where the TTD had proposed to build a massive Sri Venkateswara Divya Kshetram including Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple on Thursday.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will participate in the special ritual in which the sprawling land in which the temple will come up will be ploughed before sowing seeds, as part of the preparatory ritualistic ceremony ahead of the laying of the foundation for the temple complex. Yadav along with his family earlier had darshan of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala.
