The houses and commercial complexes in APs capital Amaravati will get piped AirConditioned AC facility just like power and piped gas supply

Vijayawada: The houses and commercial complexes in AP’s capital Amaravati will get piped Air-Conditioned (AC) facility just like power and piped gas supply.

The Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) is going to enter into a MoU with United Arab Emirates (UAE) based company in this regard soon.

The company initially decided to invest Rs 260 crore on the project. According to officials, the AC facility would be introduced in Amaravati capital under public private participation (PPP) mode. The UAE-based company would invest the total project cost by setting up AC unit with 400 tonnes capacity. The CRDA has already decided to allot 2.5 acres site for this purpose.

The AC generation unit can supply AC facility to residences and commercial complexes in about 500-acre limits. The CRDA team led by Principal Secretary Ajay Jain and Commissioner Ch Sridhar visited the AC generation plants and common AC provider system of UAE. The team also studied a Singapore-based company's AC generation system.

The officials identified the two-way benefit with the AC system. The AC generation cost will go down up to 40 per cent while consumers will get AC facility at low price compared to regular AC units. Similarly, the users need not invest further on purchase of AC machines.

In this backdrop, the CRDA wants to introduce the AC system by getting nod from Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. The Chief Minister is also keen to introduce the new technology-based AC system.

Presently, only Singapore and UAE-based companies have introduced the AC system. CRDA Commissioner Ch Sridhar said that the AC pipeline system would be introduced across the capital in near future. The consumers can get AC like power, gas and water through pipeline.
