Bharat Bandh peaceful in Agency

Visakhapatnam: Protesting Centre’s anti-Left Wing Extremism operation strategy ‘Operation Samadhan,’ the banned CPI Maoist gave a call for ‘Bharat Bandh’ as part of their week-long protest in agency on Thursday.

The bandh was observed peacefully in agency areas, Paderu, Dumbriguda and Araku. The shop owners downed their shutters and both government and private transport buses stayed off the roads. Meanwhile the district police along with special action teams beefed up security in Maoist-affected areas in Agency.

In the evening, the public and private vehicles moved in agency area. Meanwhile the Maoists had dumped huge tree trunks on the road between Andhra-Odisha border blocking the traffic and pasted banners on the walls.
