Mary Matha fest begins with prayers
The threeday festival at the South Indias largest Catholic Shrine Gunadala Mary Matha was launched with prayers in a grand manner on Thursday Vijayawada Catholic Diocese Bishop Telagathoti Joseph Rajarao, Fr P Muvvala Prasad, Vikar General P M Gabriel, Fr P A William Jayraj inaugurated the newly constructed fountain
Vijayawada: The three-day festival at the South India’s largest Catholic Shrine Gunadala Mary Matha was launched with prayers in a grand manner on Thursday. Vijayawada Catholic Diocese Bishop Telagathoti Joseph Rajarao, Fr P Muvvala Prasad, Vikar General P M Gabriel, Fr P A William Jayraj inaugurated the newly constructed fountain.
Later Bishop Telagathoti Joseph Rajarao, Muvala Prasad and other officials hoisted the religious flag and started the prayers. On the occasion, Bishop Telagathoti Joseph Rajarao addressed the devotees and said that Goddess Mary is the one who bought Jesus Christ into this world. He said that the Goddess had showered her grace on people who believed in her and making her devotees to visit the Holy Shrine.
Muvala Prasad, Shrine Rector U William Rajarao said there will be prayers for nine days continuously and added that a large number of devotes will visit the Mary Matha Festival, which is going to happen on February 9, 10 and 11 at Gunadala.
