APCCI all praise for Vote-on-Account

Vijayawada: In spite of the cash crunch, the AP government has introduced a pragmatic and growth-oriented budget giving equal priority to development and welfare, said G Sambasiva Rao, president of AP Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (APCCI) Federation commenting on the Vote-on-Account introduced in the Assembly on Tuesday.
Particularly the introduction of Annadata Sukhibhava scheme allotting funds of Rs 5000 crore for infusing capital to help farmers take up cultivation is laudable, he said in a statement here.
Sambasiva Rao also hailed the decision of allotting Rs 500 crore for micro, small and medium industries and a new initiative like driver empowerment programme with Rs 70 crore. He also hailed the allocation of Rs 4,114.92 crore to the sectors of industries and commerce.
Executive Director of AP Chambers Amirineni Satyanarayana said that the Vote-on-Account would pave the way for the development and welfare of farmers and industry. He pointed out that Rs 2.26 lakh crore Budget registered an increase of 18.38 per cent over the previous Budget.
He said the State government ensured justice to various sectors. He welcomed allocation of Rs 1,000 crore towards price stabilisation, Rs 4,000 crore under Pasupu-Kumkuma scheme, Rs 1,100 cr for interest-free loans to DWCRA groups, enhancement of unemployment dole from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000, allotment of Rs 300 crore for handloom and food processing sectors and increase in allocations to SC Sub-Plan, ST Sub-Plan and BC Sub-Plan.
He opined that the anticipated growth of 11 per cent is not impossible with the allotment of Rs 31,182.61 crore for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development and Rs 16,852.27 crore for the Irrigation sector.
